Safeguarding
At West Chiltington Community School, it is a safe environment where as a community we share an objective to help keep children and young people safe.
Safeguarding is one of our important priorities, as children need to feel safe, cared for and valued in order to learn and thrive. We all do this by contributing the following:
- Providing a safe environment for children and young people to learn in education settings
- Protect Children from Maltreatment
- Identifying children and young people who are suffering or likely to suffer significant harm
- Taking appropriate action with the aim of making sure they are kept safe both at home and in the education setting.
Everyone has a responsibility for safeguarding and all staff are DBS checked and are trained on how to report any instances through the correct routes to the designated safeguarding lead.
