Friends Of the School Association (FOSA)
At FOSA's heart is a small committee of volunteers, supported by class representatives and other parents, school staff and members of the community. Anybody is welcome to join at any time.
The FOSA committee consists of the following posts, elected every year at the AGM:
Co-Chair: Jemima Mead
Co-Treasurer: Rebecca Lefcovitch-Davies
Communication: Jemma Ainsworth
Committee: Elizabeth Huckwell, Amanda Lefcovitch-Davies, Susie Steele, Toni Nubbert & Vicky McLaughlin
We pride ourselves in having a very active and dedicated parent-led fundraising group. It is your ideas, support and skills that continue to underpin our success.
FOSA organises events to raise money for the school to enhance the education and experiences of our children, by enabling the provision of facilities and activities that would not otherwise be possible.
The money we have raised in recent years has helped towards various projects that may not have been possible without your support, these include the outside play equipment and outdoor classroom.
2024/25 Plan
In 2024/25, working alongside Helen Drummond, we would like to be able to help raise funds for a range of enhanced extracurricular activities for all of the children in the school (exactly what occurs will be dependent on how much we are able to raise). The events / activities paid for by FOSA may include but not be limited to:
- Coaches – each class will have 1 trip away by coach a year, If FOSA funds the coach travel we could either go further afield/more costly places or do more trips.
- Theatre days
- First aid day
- Coding day
- Whole school trip to panto
- Sports experience day
- Arts experience day
- Skipping day
We hope you will agree that all the above will add value to our children and without FOSA and the support you are able to provide these would not be possible, thank you!
Full details of these events will be communicated in the Newsletter and via class reps.
All activities run by FOSA are hugely dependent on the support and involvement of all our parent helpers who are able to provide support at specific events or help with odd jobs throughout the year. Please do get in touch if you can offer any help toward planning and/or running these events so we can keep you updated on how you could help if you have the time.
FOSA meetings are held regularly and these are open to everyone, so please do come along.
If you have any questions, have any other fund-raising ideas or would like to get involved in FOSA, please email westchiltingtonfosa@gmail.com as we would love to hear from you.
